Bought from an estate sale. The title says 1959, but could be a different year. 350 sbc with sm465. The story is the guy who built it passed away and the wife sold off everything. The engine was supposedly rebuilt years ago and he burnt up the clutch. He pulled the transmission and passed away before putting it back together. The Jeep had been sitting for over 20 years. My son and I checked all the cylinders with a borescope and there was good crosshatching. Cylinder 8 was the only one that had moisture from a valve being half open, but the piston was at the top of the stroke and we think we got lucky. We got it unstuck and actually got the engine to fire on crappy wires and a cheap distributor. This thing was extremely well built and you can tell the guy knew what he was doing. Tub is solid, has very old 38s on it but surprisingly not rotted out. Cant figure out where these axles are from as the numbers dont match anything. But...I think theyre from a Jeep TJ, just not sure 100%.
