• 1962 Jeep FC-150 “Forward Control” Pickup Truck; All Original except for chrome wheels and larger tires. CLEAN TITLE IN VIRGINIA
• Rust-free truck from Texas, and has been garaged in Virginia for the past 2 decades.
• Very rare to find in original, rust-free condition. Total FC-150 production from 1957-1963 was 15,696.
• Very original FC-150 that is an honest, unmodified example. Odometer shows 7400 miles, possibly correct but unknown. Has long been stored in two collections, so mileage should be low. The drivetrain is completely original.
General details and assessment: (see 68 photos at the URL link)
• Not a concours quality truck, but it presents very well at local shows. And based upon this owner’s search, there were no more original, rust-free FC-150’s available outside high-end private collections.
• No evidence of rust repair or bondo that the owner can find. Photos underneath the fenders and of the frame do not show any rust, except for very minor, typical surface rust.
• One repaint in dark red with a tiny gold fleck, commonly used in the 1970’s. Not quite as bright as a Candy Apple Red. Two-tone, with a black grill area and black gas tank. Paint is shiny and very good, with only a few tiny scratches and chips.
• Excellent chrome on bumpers and mirrors, good on the Jeep FC-150 logos.
• The glass is all good with no cracks. The windshield has minor fogging at its lower edge but is otherwise clear. Window gasketing is good, with no tears.
• Professionally-done new interior (2025), in a simple charcoal vinyl with contrasting dark red piping. New upholstery on both seats, door panels, under-dash passenger panel, and door panels. Black carpeting, covered with new rubber custom-fit mats from Kaiser-Willys. Fabric red headliner for better sound absorption than the original hardboard. (see photos)
• Original engine: Hurricane, 4 cylinder, F-Head, 134 cubic inches, 75HP, 115 ft lbs torque, measures 125-130psi compression in all cylinders.
• Rebuilt original carburetor with manual choke.
• 3-speed synchronized floor shift transmission, with separate lever for 4WD low, 4WD high, 2WD high, and neutral to operate center PTO.
• Center PTO that powers the heavy-duty front winch through a shaft. (Owner has never used this.)
• All exterior and dash lights work.
• All gauges work except the fuel tank gauge does not seems to read accurately.
• Good, serviceable tires and spare, though they are not the original, much more narrow type of tire, nor are the chrome wheels original. Original painted wheels are still available, however.
Options on this FC-150: (see photos)
• Rare heavy-duty “Koenig King Winch” mounted behind front bumper. Steel cable. Was an option for the FC-150, and appears never to have been used. Made by Koenig Iron Works of Houston, Texas. This is a much-desired option among serious collectors. The owner has never tried to operate it.
• Rear tow hitch.
• Heater and ventilator.
• Chrome bumpers.
• “Rubber Roll Fenders” on front. (small fender flares)
• Oil bath air cleaner.
• Directional turn signals.
Recent work on this FC-150: (see photos)
• Compression test on all cylinders: 125-130 psi
