This is a nice example of a M38A1 Jeep thats in great shape.
My father in law bought about 15 years ago. It has been garaged the whole time, and only driven for parades / rides with grandkids!
He recently passed, and although I'd love to hang on to it, I simply don't have the space to store it properly. Now, on to the Jeep!
It's a 1953 M3A1 with 4 cyl F head engine. I recently gave it tune-up to get it going, which included new plugs / wires/ rotor/ cap, Carburetor and battery. Speaking of battery it has been converted to 12v, Everything is in pretty nice condition, a couple of notes:
The originaly horn IS PRESENT but does not function. I have installed a 12v horn under the hood so that it will pass inspection.
The gauges all work, although The gas gauge show FULL no matter what. The speedo has a shattered lens (but works fine) The gauges all have a RED illumination that comes on with headlights.
Tires are old, but in EXCELLENT condition. lots of tread, no dry-rot. hold air just fine. BONUS!! the SPARE tire on the back is an ORIGINAL 1953 model!
Included with the jeep are a box of misc goodies (flashlights, mess kit, etc) along with some paperwork, and Body tags . Also the original carb, and dirstrib cap.
It drives well. 4x4 works.
It comes only as shown in the pics. I DO NOT have a top, or anything else not mentioned.
