1959 Willys Jeep CJ-5 — Restored, Period-Correct, Never Left Home
This Jeep CJ-5 has spent its entire life within 20 miles of Saluda, Virginia — and it shows. This isn't a Jeep that's been hauled around the country and pieced together. It's a genuine survivor from one place, now restored and ready to go.
The restoration is not flashy, just correct while saving as much originality as possible. The original F-134 Hurricane 4-cylinder has been fully rebuilt with about 100 miles on it since completion. It's been painted multiple times and looks the part.
What's new or done:
Rebuilt F-134 engine (100 mi ago)
New shocks, springs, and body mounts
Complete brake job — lines, master cylinder, drums. New radiator, gas tank, carburetor. New tires, battery, alternator, 12-volt conversion.
Floor and wheel wells replaced, Rust repaired on tub. Frame solid and treated. Bikini top included.
Starts, runs, and drives great. Heater is the only thing that doesn't work.
