1953 Willys CJ-3B Jeep the "OG Stepside" with trailer included!

I acquired this 1953 Willys four years ago. I have copies of original bills of sale from Willys Motors Inc (R Hawley, Cashier, Toledo 1, Ohio) to the U.S. Government, Federal Civil Defense Administration, Washing, D.C. dated March 1953, Invoice No 23856.

The vehicle is Body Type Univ. Jeep (fire fighter pumper, Anchorage, AK), Engine No. 4J-13485, Serial No. 453-GB2-13329. Manufactured by Howe Fire Apparatus Company, Anderson, Indiana, Model HJ No. 9040. As I understand, it pulled a water trailer, had a front bumper mounted water pump (PTO) with supply and return pipes running underneath.

It has less than 7800 miles on it and runs nice.

It was salvaged from a mudslide by and transferred ownership to a Raymond Johnson in 8/5/68. I have an Alaska Motor Vehicle Division registration from 9/18/74 to Samuel Miller, the fellow I got it from. He used it for moose hunting (put bogs on it, removed pump, added winch, still has the siren!) and said he never drove it on pavement. I bought his property here in NE Oregon and we made a deal to include the jeep. It is registered to me in Oregon now.
